Bibles

Sow the seed of the Word of God.
A major challenge in church planting and growth is the lack of biblical knowledge among church members. Bibles are mostly unavailable and many people in the rural areas are illiterate.
FMI regularly provides Bibles in native languages, solar-powered MP3 audio devices and SD cards loaded with digital recordings of Scripture. FMI partners even help train the people through adult literacy courses using the Scriptures as a textbook!
Motorcycles

Mobilize the Gospel.
In more rural areas, travelling from one area to another can be a challenge. At times almost impossible, especially at night. Kidnappings and robberies are quite common in certain areas. Sometimes ministry partners have to stay overnight in the local area following a church service so that they can travel during daylight hours for safety.
Dirt roads make it very difficult to reach all the villages, especially during heavy rains. The gift of a motorbike enables our partners to travel more easily, and allows their ministries to spread to more distant areas and helps them to spend more time with the people in their villages.
Church Site Construction

Buildings that house faith.
Upon graduation from our 6 year program, FMI often blesses partners with a special one-time gift. Sometimes this comes in the form of funds toward their church site construction project.
These funds are used to purchase building materials while the local church members provide the land and the labor for the project.
Safe Houses

A refuge from the storm.
One highly effective way that FMI's partners minister to persecuted Christians is through the operation of a network of safe houses. Within these walls those who have been significantly threatened or abused for their faith can be sheltered for several weeks.
During their stay, persecuted Christians can receive medical treatment, vocational training to help with resettlement in a new community, and intensive discipleship. Because each safe house can only house men or women or families, this effectively doubles or triples the need for more of these homes.
Sewing & Literacy Centers

Lifting women from poverty, offering salvation
In many of our fields of ministry clothes are handmade, and skilled seamstresses are in high demand, especially in rural areas.
By learning how to sew from within her own home, not only can a Christian woman help increase her family's income (which also benefits the local churches) but it removes the women from workplace abuse.
Many of the women otherwise would serve as maids to Muslim families where they are frequently victims of beatings or other abuses.
Where Most Needed

Meeting the most urgent needs.
As with any ministry, unexpected and urgent needs arise on a weekly basis. Your gift to our “Where Most Needed” fund gives us the flexibility to meet those needs when they arise without the need for a special lengthy fundraising campaign.
Gifts to be used “Where Most Needed” are among the most empowering gifts given by our donors.
