The latest research indicates that the typical American Christian owns five Bibles. But overseas, in the places where FMI’s church planters serve, just the opposite is true. There, a single Bible has multiple readers – typically impacting nine readers, and sometimes up to 20.
Now, thanks to a generous matching grant received by FMI, during the month of February, you have the opportunity to double that impact! As a result, every gift in any amount made to this urgent appeal for Bibles – up to $50,000 total – will be matched dollar for dollar. Your gift during this campaign will allow us to share the gospel directly with more than 128,000 people!
It costs $7 per Bible to print and place God’s Word in the hands and hearts of people across Asia and Africa through FMI’s ministry partners. Through our Twice As Far campaign, your contribution made now or before February 29, will go twice as far to reach feed spiritually hungry people. Your special gift of $50 becomes $100, providing 14 Bibles in native languages, potentially reaching 128 people with the gospel. A gift of $200 becomes $400 to impact more than 500 people. In places where literacy rates are low, we are prepared to share the Scriptures through audio CDs and micro-SD cards in the local languages.
Considering that a single Bible typically impacts nine lives in the areas where FMI’s partners serve (places where it is otherwise extremely difficult to obtain a Bible), your matched gift will propel us to a goal of safely delivering God’s Word to more than 128,000 spiritually hungry people!
