The gospel received in one country gets multiplied as seed in another country.
Khalid sits with compatriots who listen to his gospel readings and testimony while they work in a foreign land.
Khalid grew up in Pakistan with a passion for automobiles. This prompted him to become a professional driver. Recently, he signed a three-year work contract in Saudi Arabia. Each month, Khalid sends the bulk of his income back to his family in Pakistan.
Before leaving for this long assignment, Khalid visited his nephew, who is a close friend of Sabir, one of FMI’s ministry partners. During a meal, Khalid expressed curiosity about the Injil — the New Testament. Although Khalid had been a devoted Muslim, his moderate and open-minded nature fueled his desire to learn more.
Encouraged by his initial interest, Sabir arranged two more meetings with Khalid that same week at one of the Kerith Brook safe houses operated by Sabir and other FMI partners. By the third meeting, Khalid’s heart was captivated by the message of salvation in Christ. He joyfully embraced the Dawat-e-Masih (Invitation of Christ) and accepted the gift of a Pashto Bible. Through continuing fellowship, study of the Injil, and meaningful conversations, Khalid experienced a deep connection to the teachings of Christ, which he found offered a peace and purpose that were missing from his life. His acceptance of Jesus as his Savior brought him a profound sense of joy, and the Bible’s message resonated with him on a personal level. Eager to grow in his new faith, he participated in FMI’s discipleship training before departing for Saudi Arabia.
Now employed in a foreign land, Khalid has made five close friends who are also from Pakistan. He keeps his Pashto Injil with him at all times, and after a long, tiring day, he gathers those friends in the evening, makes tea for them, and reads a passage from God’s Word in their native language. Khalid shares his new faith with them, explaining how accepting Jesus as his Savior and Lord has transformed his life.
